Florence Frances Googins, 88, of Keaau died Aug. 15 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired federal budget analyst. Services held. Survived by sons, Richard (Teri) Wooten of Colorado, Michael Forsythe of Kentucky, James (Kathy) Googins of Keaau and Irving (Marcela) Googins of California; daughters, Karen Brandi and Jane (Frank) Kier of Texas; brother, Donald (Louise) Mendonca of New Mexico; sister, Barbara Shores of New Mexico; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Marvin Thomas Harrison, 90, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 15 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., he was a mechanic for Yellow Freight, owner of MTH Yard Services and a U.S. Navy veteran. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Friday (Aug. 25) at Living Stones Church on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona. Survived by wife, Soklang Harrison of Kailua-Kona; sons, William Harrison, Marvin Harrison, and Daryl (Lisa) Harrison; daughter, Denise (Michael) Parker of the mainland; brothers, Ronald (April) Goings, Larry (Mattie) Goings and Joseph (Jacqueline) Goings; sisters, Edith (Robert) Price, Beverly Walker, Annette Whiteside and Marsha (Moses) Wilson, all of the mainland; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Madeleine “Grandma Carol” Halverson Labuguen Pavao, 71, of Pahoa died Aug. 10 at home. Born in Honolulu, she worked on Oahu at the former Pearl City Car Wash and Waianae High School. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 29) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Prayer service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Section A.
